The Utility Level BESS-40MWh is connected to the electricity grid via the ATCO power owned Rycroft 703s Substation. The BESS system utilized 14 Tesla Megapacks (each is3 .9MWh). The function of the BESS system is to participate in the Alberta Electricity System Operators(AES0)-Ancillary Markets.The BESS system also participates the FFR (Fast-Frequency-Response) program and achieved the world’s fastest frequency response for BESS(within 150ms under all operating scenarios).
Provide engineering services for front-end engineering studies, system design review, protection system design, setting engineering, FFR scheme development
Perform load flow, short circuit, transient stability, insulation coordination, and effective grounding studies.
Provide on-site commissioning support.
200MW Wind Farm
Performed load flow, short circuit, and transient stability studies to evaluate the impact of a new 200MW wind farm on the transmission system.
Propose and design the remedial action schemes(RAS) to address the observed thermal overloading and transient stability concerns.
4.2MWh BatteryStation
This battery station includes two parallel 2.1Mwh battery system, utilizing 40 ft container all-in-one battery system design. The station is located in Toronto Canada connecting to 44kV distribution network. The BESS was designed to reduce the global adjustment charges for the plant facility.
Provides engineering services for electrical system design, protection system design, setting engineering, utility interconnection requirement support
Provide on-site construction/commissioning support.
25kV Line Connected Solar-2.5MW DC Solar Farm, Yukon
This 2.5MW solar farm is connected to YEC’s 25kV distribution line, located in Yukon Canada.
Provide full engineering services from the front-end application to detail engineering commissioning. Solvest is the construction contractor.
Solar-100MW AC
Provide engineering for all the front-end studies, such as load flow, short circuit, transient stability studies to evaluate the impact of a new 100MW solar farm on the transmission system.
Proposed and designed the remedial action schemes (RAS) to address the observed thermal overloading, transient stability concerns, and operation flexibility.
300MW Solar + 200MW BESS – Westbridge, Alberta
Performed load flow, short circuit, and transient stability studies to eyaluate the impact of a new 300MW solar+ 200 MW battery farm on the transmission system.
Propose and design the remedial action schemes(RAS) to address the observed thermal overloading and transient stability concerns.
Carport PV System-1.2MW DC-Calgary, Alberta
Provide engineering design for the PV system and interface with local utility. Provide engineering design for metering compartment and compliance for point of connection to ENMAX.
Provide technical field services for commissioning and testing of PV system.
5MW Solar
Provide technical support for protection setting engineering, utility interconnection requirement support.
3MW DC Solar + 3MWh BESS MicroGrid
Extreme low temperature in winter season is one of the biggest challenges for the project.
Provide front-end feasibility study, conceptual design.
Assist on the QEC(utility) system impact study.
Detail engineering to be carried out in 2024.
444kWh BESS per Site Microgrid – Hydro One, Ontario
This outdoor pad-mount modular design BESS is designed to provide electricity support for remote communities for HydroOne during frequent outages.
Provide full engineering service from front-end conceptual design to detail engineering, procurement.
Develop Energy Management System (EMS) for the microgrid under all potential operating scenarios.
Construction to start in 2024. To provide technical field services for commissioning and start-up.
